Organizational Profile

The Mountain Resources Management Group (MRMG) is a national, non-political, secular and independent non-governmental organization, established in 1993. It is registered with District Administration Office in Kathmandu, Ministry of Home Affairs under Association Registration Act 2034 and affiliated with Social Welfare Council under Social Welfare Act. It has pool of qualified and experienced development experts and professionals, and is governed by an executive Board. It conducts nationwide development programs focused on developing cost-effective, sustainable, and ecologically balanced. It works in close partnership with governmental and non-governmental national and international organizations.

Mission

MRMG's mission is to improve the quality of life of the poor, oppressed and marginalized section of the rural society by encouraging and responding to their self-initiatives.

Objective

The overall objective of the MRMG is to reduce poverty by improving social and economic condition of the target beneficiaries through agro-based income generating activities. The specific objectives comprise:
  • Bring about sustainable human resource development in harmony with the local environment, tradition and culture.
  • Help reduce poverty among the rural communities and to boost sustainable development.
  • Create awareness towards health and sanitation issues among the rural people and present environment degradation.
  • Initiate women in decision-making in every development aspects.
  • Link coordination with local government organizations, NGO/INGOs for development initiation.
  • Implement action research projects and evaluate them for replication to the other areas.
