Websites on WomenSpecifically on Nepal You will find some materials on gender issues in Nepal on the Asian Development Bank website. The Forum for Women, Law and Development describes itself as a "non-governmental organization whose mission is to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women in Nepal and protect and promote human rights through research and public education, advocacy, legal aid and litigation". The Legal Aid and Consultancy Centre (LACC) "is an independent non-profit, non-partisan and non-governmental legal resource women's organisation. It was established in 1987 by a group of lawyers for the protection and promotion of the rights and interests of women and children in Nepal". The University of Washington Libraries' South Asian Women Studies section in the USA has a page of links to material on women in Nepal. The Center for Reproductive Rights has material on Nepal and also on other parts of Asia, and indeed the world. Women's International League for Peace and Freedom has a section on Nepal news on its website. Asia The Gender Mainstreaming in Asia Programme (IFAD-UNIFEM) has a website with links to a number of other organisations with programmes relevant to women - see http://www.gendermainstreamingasia.org/networks.htm University of Washington Libraries' South Asian Women Studies section has links to websites about women in South Asia. Worldwide There are many websites with material about the position of women in other parts of the world. Here are links to collections of links to such websites: The "Sunshine for Women" website has many links on many different topics. Humanities and Social Sciences On-Line, described as "An international consortium of scholars and teachers, committed to pioneering the use of new communication technology to facilitate the free exchange of academic ideas and scholarly resources" has resources on women (these are mainly academic sites, and many are in the USA) You will find links to sites on women's rights on the Derechos website.
